Tsawa Khamtsen library preserves unique Tibetan Buddhist manuscripts.
"I wish to setup a library for Tsawa Khamtsen in the new building which is now being constructed. Sometimes monasteries do have a library, but then they don't allow you to easily make use of the valuable books in it because they fear the books will get damaged. However that is not my idea of how things should be. I want books that are accessible for everyone and can be read by everyone. That only will benefit the monks and their studies."

His Holiness the Dalai Lama regularly emphasises that the unique culture and religion of Tibet needs to be preserved.
The Ganden Jangtse Library project undertakes the abovementioned task: It is a non-profit organisation with the following goals:
- Preservation of all valuable buddhist manuscripts written by Indian and Tibetan philosophers.
- Making all these works available for free to those who wish to study them.
- Publishing of dictionaries and basic Tibetan grammar books.
- Making all manuscripts available on modern media.
- New collection and compilation of old and rare Buddhist manuscripts..

However, the library lacks sufficient funds to realise these goals, and to provide the monks with the necessary study materials.
If you are interested in sponsoring this project you can also opt to sponsor a particular item - a book or a collection within the library.
